Sunday Morning May 20, 2017

What a blessed day we were to have in store for us this day, we just did not know it yet.

Mac opened the service asking for prayer requests and Praise reports. Royce was asked to open the service with prayer. The pledges to the flags and Bible were given and we then sang “Come And Dine”

Sunday School classes were then started and there were 4 in the young peoples class this morning. I am not at all sure what they had to study but It was mighty powerful as one of the young ladies in the class decided that today was the day to believe in the saving power of Jesus. We are thankful when anyone is drawn to Christ, but particularly thankful when it is a young person, who hopefully will be able to live a life that is always pleasing to God.

I might also mention that this young lady is planning on being the first to use the new Baptistery that the church now has, and I believe that it will happen next Sunday.

Our adult class was studying 2 Samuel 15 where David is challenged for his kingdom by his own son Absalom. Also it was pointed out how foolish it was for Absalom to think that he could take on his earthly father who had all the power of the Lord of Hosts at his disposal and David was a man not afraid to ask God for help and then follow the plan God put before him. A really good lesson. and I really did try hard to pay attention even though there was this little girl who I was also paying attention to.

We did go over our allowed time in Sunday School which as mentioned is a good thing. After classes were back in we sang “When They Ring The Bells Of Heaven”, “In The Resurrection Morning” and “Inside The Gates”

I am certain that Jesus was with our pastor this morning as he titled his message “Drawn or Driven” and used Ephesians 1:2-4 for his scripture and he pointed out to us that we need to be drawn to Jesus because we are heeding His calling and because he loved us and had our life planned out before the foundations of the world were laid. It was also pointed out that all the shepherds lead their flock and they did not try to drive them as that would never work out for the shepherds. in like manner we do not take to being driven well either.

A really good message that we needed to hear.

The invitational “Power In The Blood” and dismissal by Sharon

We then all or almost all of us retired to the fellowship hall and enjoyed our monthly Sunday Dinner.

Extra

I wanted to add a little about Wednesday night. It was a very good service and fit completely with the events of the day I had in the field. Thanks to Sister Kay’s obedience and King David I might add, we were right where we  needed to be. Our discussion led us in a direction of faith stability and a modern day lack of. I pointed out that there are people trying to run Gods house and the affairs of who need to be pointed in a direction or even need to be told what church they need to attend so they can learn how to simply go to church. I had one young man in mind and Happy Home church would be a place I would point him to. Good guy and I believe one day could make a great man of GOD but his present leadership leads to a fleshy type of worship. We might ask ourselves how did 10 tribes of God’s chosen people become lost? Our perfect example is an old testament Revelation if we visit the scriptures. Ten tribes that is proportionally a large mass lost! Let’s  learn how to go to church and stay in the light so that everyone has a chance to receive the perfect gift (the one that gives it). If we look at modern times considering the lost tribes, it was the whole tribe that was lost and led astray. That means every age group in that tribe! Food for thought hope you like.

Wednesday Evening May 17, 2018

Pastor Gregg began by asking for prayer requests and led us in prayer.

We then sang “Living By Faith”

Kay led the devotion which was taken from Psalm 62, a wonderful Psalm about having faith in our Lord. And how if our trust is in Him we can stand and and not be moved.

Pastor Gregg then went on with the Next Psalm and it was discussed for a bit. I have to admit to being a bit distracted by a little girl, who needed me.

Royce then dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday Evening May 13, 2018

Pastor Gregg started off the service by asking for prayer requests and inviting everyone to the front for a prayer circle, and also invited everyone to pray around the circle.

We then sang “I Want To Know More About My Lord”, “I Want Us To Be Together In Heaven”, “Until You’ve Known The Love Of God”.

Mac and Sara then sang “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again”

Sharon Sang “Sheltered In Safe Within The Arms Of God”

John W sang another song he wrote I will call “Works Won’t Get You In To Heaven”

John H sang about Psalm 139 I think, I was a little distracted with a really cute little girl (but I really was trying to pay attention).

Pastor Gregg then presented the message from Isaiah 2:1-8. talking about the salvation, that Christ so freely offers.  And how we should be careful of what we are making idols of.

Peggy chose the closing song of “Take My Hand Precious Lord” and then Pastor Gregg dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday Morning May 13, 2018

What a beautiful morning for us to celebrate Mothers Every Where. All of us have one in our lives and hopefully we all had one that we are proud of and love like no other person on earth.

We had eight mothers that I am aware of in attendance this morning, and There were several of those mothers that had their grown children in attendance with them.

Our service was started off with prayer requests and praise reports, and then Juanita led us in prayer.  We then sang “Victory in Jesus” after which we were led in the pledges to the flags and Bible.

Sunday School was then opened and our class was studying the 13th chapter of 2nd Samuel. This scripture is talking about the rape of Tamar by her brother, or likely a half-brother, and the eventual revenge against him by Absalom. All adding to the punishment of the king David for his sin.

After the Sunday School classes were back in the coins for Christ was collected and we had excellent help from Gage and Maddox.

We then sang “I Never Shall Forget The Day”, ” What A Lovely Name”and “Love Will Roll The Clouds Away”.

After the offering portion of the service Frank (Peggy’s son) sang and played on the piano “I Saw A Man”

Marshall then sang and played the Banjo “Why Me Lord” and “He Set Me Free”.

Juanita had been requested to sing “i Believe” which she did beautifully.

Pastor Gregg then brought the message “Mother Of Us All” using Joel 2:27-28. talking about the dreaming dreams and seeing visions, all pointing to accepting Christ as our savior.

Also Matthew 23:37-39 again talking about Jerusalem and pointing to Christ.

and Finally Galatians 4:26 which is talking about The New Jerusalem being the mother of us all.

The closing hymn was “The Old Country Church” and Marshall dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday evening

We started our evening service with prayer request and included those that weren’t with us. We missed Peggy and Royce and sang without music but in good voice and harmony.

We were pleased to have our visitors and the message was brought from Romans chapter 7. It was asked if we knew what grace looked like. Chapter 7 gives a good analogy also we have been studying about King David who through his triumphs and trials we have an outstanding example and should not be surprised that grace comes only from the LORD even if he chooses to use us as a vessel to manifest his grace. Paul points out that even in times that he overstepped his boundaries grace was there also reassuring us of a constant guide. That’s how God’s children can live in this present world lending a spiritual hand just as JESUS did in his alloted time, his freewill working copletely in conjunction with God’s grace amidst a World and religion that wasn’t. In this present world, and even in Pauls time, we have only one hope and trust and that is in the one that succeeded. He can show us the way because he is the way the truth and that glorius light!

Wednesday Evening April 2, 2018

Well call me a slacker! Here it is Friday and I am just getting around to Wednesdays blog post.

Pastor Gregg started the service off asking for prayer requests and praise reports for which there were several of each. It is awesome to know that we are serving The Living God who answers prayers. It is also good to hear the reports of the answered prayer.

We sang “Will Circle Be Unbroken”

Carla led the devotion this evening and she used the 6th Chapter of Ephesians, which talks about a couple of important things starting with obedience of children to parents and servants to masters, and finally reminding us that God is the final Master.

And then continuing on telling us to be armed with the armor of God and then telling us what the armor is and how it is to be used. What a blessed passage of Scripture.

Mrs. Ulla then closed the devotion with prayer and Royce opened the business meeting with prayer.

A very constructive meeting was then held deciding to recover the floor in the kitchen and dining areas.

and making a contribution to “Loving the Least of These” a support “store” in Mountain Grove that gives clothing and supplies to families who take foster children in.

And finally reaffirming that we wanted to keep Pastor Gregg Moseley as our pastor. after which our meeting adjourned.

Quarterly meeting

Our quarterly association  meeting went well although we had several unable to attend.  We richly enjoyed the fellowship and worship. Members had some good testimonies and I want to share sister Lou’s. She talked about some of the woes of her life. I am still amazed she ever experienced anything bad because all the years I have known her you could sence she was a person of blessing. At 93 she stated that any time we face trouble we should say JESUS, JESUS ,JESUS . I am intrigued  by that because I know it’s true when you call on the savior 3 times you call out a trinity, Father SAVIOR who sent his son, LORD SAVIOR who is the eternal Son and our King, HOLY SPIRIT SAVIOR who is our present help straight from the FATHER and SON (JESUS name means SAVIOR)  i am so glad for Lou because she wears her faith so thankfuly. Sister Teresa even stated in her later years after all the good she had done for humanity darkness had been her constant companion.

We had an interesting message from brother Dwayne who also brought some visitors that we were pleased to have. Lead Hill church won the attendance banner. Good job guys!

Sunday Evening April 29, 2018

Pastor Gregg started the evening asking for praise reports and prayer requests, we then had a prayer circle and Pastor Gregg led us in prayer.

We then sang “The Old Country Church”, “O The Glory Did Roll”, “I Never Shall Forget The Day”, “Draw Me Nearer” and “God On The Mountain”.

Peggy and Juanita sang “When I Take My Vacation In Heaven” Again this eveing. they said something about practicing on us, but it sounded like they had done some practicing before they got to church.

John H sang a song that I did not recognize and I failed to get the title from him. Sorry.

Mac and Sara sang “Mansion Over The Hilltop”.

Vic and Carol were with us this evening and sang “Poor Wayfaring Stranger”, “By The Mark Where The Nails Have Been” and “When He Reached Down His Hand For Me”

Pastor Gregg then delivered the message about “Stonewashed Genes” taken from Deuteronomy 13:6-10 telling how God was serious about worshiping false gods. And John 8:52-59 talking about Jesus telling the Jews that he was before Abraham.

We should be very careful to worship God in a way that is pleasing to Him and avoid falling into the trap of worshiping god is a way that is pleasing to us as humans.

Pastor Gregg asked for a song and “Is Thy Heart Right With God” was chosen and Vic Dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday Morning April 29, 2018

This morning Mac started the service asking for prayer requests, and he then asked John W to lead us in prayer, after which Mac led in the pledges to the Flags and Bible.

We then sang “When All Of Gods Singers Get Home” after which we all went to Sunday School Classes. We were blessed to have eight children present this morning.

Our adult Sunday School lesson was on 2 Samuel chapter 7  and dealt with God’s Promise to David concerning establishing his house and lineage forever.

After Sunday School classes came back in the coins for Christ were collected. It is always a blessing to have the children come around to collect the coins. They are always so bright and happy.

We then sang “Inside The Gate”, “I’ll Fly Away”, “What A Lovely Name”, after which the morning offering was collected.

Peggy and Juanita then sang “When I Take My Vacation In Heaven”

John W, sang “I Went Down To The Water” a song he had written about being baptized.

Mac and Sara sang, “Are You Washed In The Blood”

Pastor Gregg then presented the message he titled ” That that lasts forever” Using Romans 1:1 and Isaiah 9:5-6 talking about Jesus being our savior and the eternal life with God. There really are things that will last forever,  but not too many of those things are going to be in this life. But it is in this life that we must make the preparations for the life that is to come.

The invitational song “Where He Leads Me I Will Follow” was sang and the service was then dismissed in Prayer by Sharon.
